George A. Terek

George A. Terek, 75, of Stratford, Conn., died yesterday at home. He was the brother of Ann Massery of Pittsfield. Born in Bridgeport, Conn., son of Albert and Catherine Farah Terek, he attended schools there. He had resided in Stratford for 11 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving as an air mechanic and specializing in repairing B-24 bombers. Mr. Terek retired as an insurance agent from Monarch Life Insurance in Stratford after more than 27 years of service. He received the President's Club pin for his sales achievements. While in Bridgeport, he was a 32nd-degree Lafayette Consistory member of the Masonic Order Corinthian Lodge 104 AF&AM. He also was a member of the OBEH Grotto, where he was a past potentate, and of the Pyramid Shriners, where he received the Legion of Honor. Mr. Terek was member of St. Nicholas' Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, and a founding member of its choir. Besides his sister, he leaves his wife, the former Frieda Gramesty; two daughters, Gail Terek of New York City and Linda Terek of Philadelphia and a brother, Michael Terek of Fairfield, Conn. The funeral will conducted at 10 tomorrow at St. Nicholas' Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Ave., Bridgeport, by Archpriest Matthew George. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 8 at COMMERCE HILL FUNERAL HOME, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Nicholas' Orthodox Church Building Fund or to United Home Care of Fairfield, Conn., in memory of George.
