John B. Wilton

John B. Wilton, 86, of 3 Dehon Road died Friday at Laurel Lake Center in Lee. Born in Great Barrington on Feb. 12, 1915, son of John and Edith Grant Wilton, he attended local schools. Mr. Wilton was employed by the state Highway Department for many years and worked on the family farm on Monument Valley Road. He retired in 1970. He was a member of Cincinnatus Lodge AF&AM. He leaves his wife of 47 years, the former Catherine Thilberg; three sons, Brian Wilton of Savannah, Ga., Wayne Wilton of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Scott Wilton of West Stockbridge; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted tomorrow, July 23, at noon at Stoney Brook Cemetery in Great Barrington by Rev. Charles Van Ausdall, pastor of First Congregational Church. There will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Humane Society in care of HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
