Angelina Girardi

Angelina Mary Girardi, 84, of 85 Eagle St., a former longtime resident of 270 Walnut St., died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Joan V. Owensby. Born in North Adams on March 8, 1917, daughter of Battista and Louisa Fachini Cozzaglio, she attended North Adams schools. Mrs. Girardi was first employed by the former McKie Tie Shop and later worked at the former Gale Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. Her husband, Valentino John Girardi, whom she married Oct. 15, 1938, died Nov. 7, 1991. Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Susan G. Galli of Williamstown; a sister, Mary C. "Sunnie" Cozzaglio of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. A son, Robert Girardi, died in infancy on March 27, 1942. Funeral will be Wednesday at 12:45 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Mass at 1:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 4 to 7. Donations to St. Anthony Building Fund, VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire, or Arthritis Foundation in care of the funeral home. A brother, Angelo "Lilly" Cozzaglio, died July 24, 1992.
