Michael A. Bush

Michael A. Bush, 43, of 289 Springside Ave. died Sunday afternoon as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Great Barrington. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 26, 1957, son of Barbara Siegmund Bush and the late Raymond A. Bush, he was a 1976 graduate of Pittsfield High School. An Air Force veteran, he was stationed in Germany with the security police force for five years. Mr. Bush was employed as a machine tender at Mead Paper Co. in South Lee for 11 years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Crown Vintage Paper Co. in Adams . He enjoyed motorcycling and raising his four dogs. As a youth, he played basketball at the Boys' Club and received several trophies. He and his wife, the former Laurel A. Browne, were married July 1, 2000, at First United Methodist Church. Besides his wife and mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves a brother, Pittsfield Police Officer Raymond A. Bush Jr. of Pittsfield; and five sisters, Ottilie Scholz, Barbie Jordan and Sandy Penna, all of Pittsfield, Ingeborg K. Chapin of Minneapolis and Gisela Gauthier of Northampton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Aunt Heidi and Uncle Albert Lambert of Pittsfield, as well as Uncle Leslie Bush of New Marlboro. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Boys' and Girls' Club in care of the funeral home.
