Virginia Orazio

Virginia Orazio, 73, of 12 Robbins Ave. died yesterday morning at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born in Pittsfield on April 25, 1928, daughter of Ephrian and Dorothy Ellis Provencher, she was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Orazio was employed by the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill and Pittsfield Rye Bakery. She enjoyed dancing, swimming and crocheting. She was formerly the official bell ringer for the GEAA Babe Ruth team. She was also a fan of Boston Red Sox. Her husband, Louis Orazio, died Dec. 29, 1983. She leaves a son, Louis E. Orazio of Dalton; a daughter, Louise Townsend of Pittsfield; four brothers, Allen Provencher, Edward Provencher, Richard Provencher and JackProvencher, all of Pittsfield; two sisters, Shirley Rennie and Jean Flynn, both of Pittsfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and her longtime companion, Francis Janes, with whom she lived. Mrs. Orazio was predeceased by a brother, Robert Provencher. Graveside services will be tomorrow, July 25, at 10 in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., 01201.
