Arthur G. Goewey

Arthur G. Goewey, 72, of Mill River Road died yesterday at home. Born in New Marlboro on May 26, 1929, son of Jesse O. and Emma Scutt Goewey, he attended local schools. He retired in 1991 from the Kolburn School. Previously, he had been employed by Berkshire Engineering and the Southern Berkshire Regional School Dis-trict. He enjoyed woodworking, building birdhouses and feeders. He also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, mowing his lawn, and spending time with his dog, Zeuss. He leaves his wife, the former Geraldine Taylor, whom he married Aug. 23, 1958, at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield; two sons, Duane Goewey of West Stockbridge and Richard Goewey of Mill River; a daughter, Blanche Johnson of Becket; seven grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, conducted by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall, pastor of First Congregational Church. The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home.
