Mildred Brassard

Mildred M. Brassard, 86, of 43 Bellevue Ave. died Wednesday evening at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, where she had been a resident since January. Born in Adams on Nov. 20, 1914, daughter of Frank and Anna Sudecka Sudacki, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Brassard was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. and later relocated to the eastern part of Massachusetts, where she was employed by Waltham Watch Co. and Raytheon Manufacturing Co. of Burlington. She returned to Adams and became employed by the former W.B. Plunkett Memorial Hospital as a nurse technician, retiring in 1973 when the hospital ceased operations. She was a communicant of Notre Dame/St. Thomas Parish, and a member of the Polish Women's Club and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Sancta Regina. Her husband, Harry A. Brassard, whom she married May 18, 1946, died Jan. 8, 1995. She leaves a son, Ronald A. Brassard of Adams; a sister, Irene Chittenden of Adams; two grandchildren, and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Brassard, who died Nov. 24, 1988. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated July 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Adams. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 Saturday in the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 8:30 until the time of service. Interment will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. The family suggests memorial gifts in her memory to the Adams Ambulance Fund in care of their Executive Offices, 47 Park St., Adams, MA 01220, or through the funeral home.
