Valdemar Pecholes

Valdemar Pecholes, 66, of 127 Daniels Ave. died Wednesday evening after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Latvia on Feb. 10, 1935, son of Jonathon W. and Olivia Pecholes, he attended schools there. He also attended the university in Latvia for three years in the engineering program. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 18 and settled in Washington, D.C. He also resided in Falls Church, Va., for many years, and moved to the Berkshires in 1991. A certified mechanic, Mr. Pecholes was employed by Bedard Brothers for the past 10 years. He enjoyed building and rebuilding computer components, fishing, his aquarium, and building mountain bikes for his son and his son's friends. He was an amateur photographer and was qualified to repair televisions. He also enjoyed remodeling around his home. He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth L. Litano, whom he married June 5, 1967, in Howard County, Md., and a son, Michael V. Pecholes of Pittsfield. Memorial services will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, officiating. The family will begin to receive friends Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations to the Heart Fund in care of the funeral home.
