Wanda Wandrei

Wanda Marie Wandrei, 77, of 50 Hathaway St. died Wednesday at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where she had been admitted July 12. Born in Adams on March 20, 1924, daughter of Joseph and Katherine Para Raczka, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School in 1943. Mrs. Wandrei was employed by Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 35 years, retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, and enjoyed golf and gardening. She leaves her husband, Frank E. Wandrei, whom she married Sept. 1, 1945; a son, David F. Wandrei of Savoy; a daughter, Marilyn A. Armstrong of Pittsfield; a brother, Emil Raczka of Adams; a sister, Irene Koscielniak of Las Vegas, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. The Rev. John Chwalek, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the St. Stanislaus Church through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220.
