Loretta Monteleone

Loretta M. Monteleone, 91, of 80 Elizabeth St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 10, 1909, daughter of Joseph and Mary Talarico Teti, she attended local schools. A homemaker, Mrs. Monteleone was employed by the former Elmvale Worsted Co. for a short time and by GE during World War II. She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies' Guild. She enjoyed cooking and bowling. Her husband, William J. Monteleone, whom she married Sept. 14, 1928, in Mount Carmel Church, died May 12, 1967. She leaves three daughters, Catherine S. Choquette, Mary J. Papa and Thelma M. Hood, all of Pittsfield; a brother, Anthony C. Teti Sr. of Pittsfield; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Loretta's main interest in life was her family, relatives and close friends; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren brought her many hours of happiness. The funeral will be Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. John J. Varley, pastor of St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, July 31, from 4 to 7. The Mount Carmel Church Ladies' Guild will meet at the funeral home tomorrow evening at 6 for a vigil service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund in care of the funeral home.
