AUGUSTA CLEMETT

Augusta Elaine Clemett, 65, of 298 West Road died Sunday morning at home. She and her husband, Donald R. Clemett, owned and operated the school buses that transported Richmond children to Pittsfield schools during the 1960s. They also worked together in the family business, Don Clemett Sheet Metal and Heating. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 2, 1935, daughter of the late Ero and Estelle Lampron Eheander, she graduated in 1953 from Pittsfield High School and in 1954 from the former St. Luke's Hospital X-ray school. Mrs. Clemett was an X-ray technician at Hillcrest Hospital from 1972 to 1979. She enjoyed watching the animals and birds in her backyard. She and her husband were married April 16, 1955. He died Oct. 27, 1966. She leaves a son, Donald M. Clemett of Richmond. A daughter, Linda J. Clemett, died March 9, 1968. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Friday at 9 at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 from St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
