Aimee B. Locke

Aimee B. Locke, 94, formerly of Great Barrington, died Monday in Dunedin, Fla. Born in Milmine, Ill., on Aug. 12, 1906, daughter of Samuel and Mary Bevilhimer Brandenburg, she attended schools there and graduated from Bement High School. She moved to the Berkshires in the early 1960s. Mrs. Locke was a member of the New Marlboro Ladies Aid and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also attended various New Marlboro and Southfield churches and was a member of the church choir and former organist at the United Church of Christ in New Marlboro. She was a past member of the Prairie Avenue Christian Church in Decatur, Ill. While in Florida, she was active in the Rotary Ann Club and the Dunedin Women's Federated Republican Club. Her husband, Edward "Ted" Locke, died in January 1987. She leaves a nephew and two nieces. She is predeceased by two sisters, Bernice Cripe and Ruby Turner, and two brothers, Howard Brandenburg and Roy Brandenburg. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at New Marlboro Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph Bishop. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Mrs. Locke's memory may be made to the United Church of Christ in New Marlboro through the FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
