Mabel A. Coffin

Mabel A. Powers Coffin, 89, of 380 Bears End Road died Saturday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Sheffield on Oct. 2, 1911, daughter of Cornelius and Mabel Davis Golden. Mrs. Coffin was employed as a cook and housekeeper for local families and relatives. She was a member of Old Parish Church. Her husbands, Benjamin Powers Sr. and Elsworth Coffin are deceased. She leaves a son, Harry C. Powers of Sheffield; a daughter, Roberta MacDonald of Springfield; two grandsons, and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by a son, Benjamin Powers. Graveside services for Mabel A. Golden Powers Coffin, who died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, will be Friday, Aug. 17, at 1 at Sheffield Center Cemetery, with the Rev. Arthur Kaufman, pastor of Old Parish Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, is in charge of the arrangements.
