Mildred M. Tone

Mildred M. "May" Tone, 83, of 56 Spadina Parkway died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons. Born in Pittsfield on June 23, 1918, daughter of James H. and Catherine Powers Tone, she attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Miss Tone was employed by GE as a secretary in the power transformer department for more than 40 years. She retired in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She leaves a niece, Joan Lane of Las Vegas, whom she helped raise. Among survivors are her nephew, Robert B. Tone Jr. and her niece, Janet C. Tone, and several other nieces and nephews. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be tomorrow from 5 to 7. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
