Beatrice Pelletier

Beatrice May Pelletier, 72, of 40 Jeffrey Drive died yesterday morning at home. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 17, 1928, daughter of James and Ruth Robbins Ryan, she graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Pelletier was employed as assistant manager of the Holiday Inn for six years and retired as manager of the Yankee Motor Lodge, where she had worked for several years. She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church, and enjoyed playing cards and traveling. She and her husband, Ludovic Y. "Lou" Pelletier, were married Dec. 25, 1944, at St. Joseph's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Dennis M. Pelletier of Dalton and James R. Pelletier of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Laurel A. Cucchi of Ijamsville, Md.; a brother, John Ryan of Pittsfield; four sisters, her twin, Barbara Allen, Catherine Elmstrom, Eleanor Cronin and Jean Leonardi, all of Pittsfield; 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A son, David L. Pelletier, died Sept. 27, 1993. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. Flowers may be sent, or those who wish may make memorial contributions to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, James and Lawrence Ryan.
