Evelyn J. Rotti

Evelyn J. Rotti, 73, of 263 Lenox Ave. died yesterday at home. Born in Poultney, Vt., on July 12, 1928, daughter of Earl S. and Ada M. Shaw Platt, she was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She also graduated from Berkshire Business College. Mrs. Rotti was employed by General Electric Co. for five years, retiring in 1963. She also worked with her daughter, Deborah, from 1980 to 1984, in Country Clean-Multi Cleaning Service, and at Deborah's Health Food Store from 1996 to 1999 on North Street. She attended St. Mark's Church. She was the first commander of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter 15 Auxiliary for three years. She and her husband, Frank, traveled to veterans' homes to help and entertain the veterans. Mrs. Rotti was an amateur artist and was active in arts and crafts. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, and traveling with her family. Her husband, Frank A. Rotti, died in 1979. She leaves two daughters, Linda M. Bartsch, with whom she made her home, and Deborah S. Bartsch of Pittsfield; a son, Frank A. Rotti Jr. of Pittsfield; a brother, John F. Platt of Pittsfield; a sister, Geraldine M. Greene of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 17, at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Mark's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 7. If friends desire, donations may be made to D.A.V. in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME in her memory. She was predeceased by two brothers, George H. Platt and Claude A. Beals.
