Gordon Davidson

Gordon Willis Davidson Sr., 86, of 1108 Ashley Falls Road, Ashley Falls, died Monday at Timberlyn Heights in Great Barrington. Born in Rockland, Maine, son of Albert R. and Marian Willis Davidson, on Nov. 12, 1914, he graduated from Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, N.J. He had resided in Sheffield most of his life and moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1985. He returned to Sheffield in 1995. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was discharged as a corporal and received the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Davidson was a salesman for Custom Extrusions, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Old Parish Church in Sheffield, the Sheffield American Legion, Cincinnatus Lodge AF&AM, and was past treasurer of the Sheffield Kiwanis for 28 years. He leaves his wife, the former Irene Fuller, whom he married Feb. 8, 1952, in Egremont; two sons, Gordon W. Davidson Jr. of Exeter, N.H., and Barry Davidson of Ashley Falls; a daughter, Patricia Sherman of Chelmsford; a stepson, Ralph R. Little III of Bailey Island, Maine; a brother, Albert "Bud" Davidson of Brockton; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
