Hazel M. Belisle

Hazel M. Belisle, 85, formerly of 12 Freeman Ave., died yesterday morning at University Commons Nursing Home in Worcester. Born in North Adams on May 16, 1916, daughter of Frank and Edna Arnold Horahan, she was a graduate of Drury High School. Mrs. Belisle was first employed by the former Florini's Italian Gardens Restaurant. After her marriage to Lawrence Joseph Belisle on Feb. 14, 1942, she became a homemaker. After her husband's death in 1973, she worked as a teachers' aide in the North Adams public schools, retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a former member of the North Adams Emblem Club. She leaves two daughters, Laurene Belisle of Westfield and Elizabeth Santley of Worcester; a sister, Frances Chenail of Williamstown, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Mass at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tonight, Monday, from 6 to 8. Donations to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. A brother, Edward Horahan, is deceased.
