John L. Tatro, 62
STAMFORD, Vt. — John Leonard Tatro, 62, of 138 Tatro Road died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at home surrounded by family. Mr. Tatro was road commissioner for the town of Stamford for 25 years.
Born in Stamford on Sept. 29, 1947, son Frances Goudreau Tatro of North Adams, Mass., and the late Everett Tatro, he attended schools in Stamford and Drury High School in North Adams.
He was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church. He was a former member of the Pittstown Beagle Club and enjoyed snowmobiling, horseback riding and rabbit hunting.
Besides his mother, he leaves his longtime companion, Jane Sullivan; a son, Ronnie James Tatro of North Adams; two daughters, Melissa Jean Tatro of Adams and Sherry Ann Hathaway and her husband, Daniel, of Stamford; three brothers, Everett Tatro of New Britain, Conn., Arthur Tatro of Readsboro and Allen Tatro of Florida, Mass.; four sisters,: Frances Dewolfe of California, Evelyn Meyer of North Adams, Loretta Maynard of Adams, Mass., and Cheryl Dunn of Shaftsbury; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Tatro, Kristina Tatro, Nicoletta Hathaway, Garrett Hathaway, Huntter Hathaway, Samantha Shepard and Brett Shepard; and Sullivan's family, with whom he was close, Justin Sullivan, Jeremy Sullivan, Julianne, Jordin, Jackson and Jenna.
He was predeceased by another brother, William Tatro.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for Mr. Tatro will take place Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Millard Cemetery in Stamford.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8. Memorial donations are suggested for the Cancer Center at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center through the funeral home.
