Margaret A. Valois, 75
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Margaret A. "Peggy" Valois, 75, of 70 Crest St. died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 21, 1934, daughter of Arthur and Arella O'Brien Vallieres, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Valois and her husband, George Joseph Valois Sr., owned and operated Peg's Taxi Service.
Her husband, whom she married April 30, 1954, died on Nov. 4, 1996.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves five daughters, Linda Charon of Adams, Susan Valois of North Adams, Debra Moody of Worcester and Christine Deatherage and Elizabeth Deatherage, both of Oklahoma; four sons, Richard Valois of Springfield, Ill., William Valois of North Adams, Edward Valois and George Valois Jr., both of Oklahoma, and two whom she considered sons, David Martin and Robert Martin Jr., both of Adams; a sister, Jean Ferris of North Adams; 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Theresa Douglas, Marion Fletcher and Arthur "Butch" Vallieres.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services for Mrs. Valois will take place Friday, Feb. 5, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Feb. 4, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society.
