Mary Semeniw

Mary Semeniw, 77, of 44 King St. died yesterday at Laurel Lake Center for Health and Rehabilitation, where she resided for the past 10 days. Born in Pittsfield on April 12, 1924, daughter of Aksenty and Vasalana Filipchuk Nykorchuk, she was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School. A homemaker, she was employed by General Electric Co. at one time. Mrs. Semeniw was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of its Women's Club. She was the widow of Peter Semeniw, who died May 5, 1997. They were married Dec. 23, 1944 in Pittsfield. She leaves a daughter, Ann Semeniw of West Stockbridge, and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 24, at 9:15 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with services at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at DWYER FUNERAL HOME today, Aug. 23, from 5 to 8. A Panachyda service will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in care of the DWYER FUNERAL HOME in her memory.
