John J. Poirot, 82
FLORIDA, Mass. — John Joseph Poirot, 82, of 212 Central Shaft Road died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in the town of Florida on Sept. 28, 1928, a son of Louis and Marie Boeiniger Poirot, he attended schools in Florida.
Mr. Poirot was employed by the town of Florida for many years as an equipment operator. He also was the owner and operator of John Poirot Trucking Co.
His wife, the former Jean Williamson, whom he married Oct. 25, 1947, died April 26, 1986.
He leaves a son, Russell L. Poirot and his wife, Kelly, of Florida; five sisters, Marceline Rooney, Adeline Barry, Claire Burdick and Rita Dugal, all of Florida, and Sandra Bergeron of North Adams; two brothers, Henry Poirot of Adams and Charles Poirot of Florida, and eight grandchildren, Stacia, Carolyn, Shelby, Jerry, Duane, Michelle, Dana and Jason.
He was predeceased by his sons John Poirot Jr. and James Poirot; his daughter, Linda Lawton; his brother Louis Poirot Sr. and sister Marie "Dolly" Rowett.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Poirot will take place Wednesday, March 2, at 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
Burial will take place in the spring in Church Cemetery in Florida.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Florida Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
