Cecilia E. Maziarz

Cecilia E. Maziarz, 63, of 1 Dubis St. died Tuesday at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on July 2, 1938, daughter of the late Thaddeus and Stella Mikuszewski Zawislak, she attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School. She then graduated from Wilfred Beauty Academy in Boston with a certificate in cosmetology and hair styling. Mrs. Maziarz operated her own beauty salon, Ceil's Beauty Shop, first on Summer Street and later from her home, until retiring 25 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, a former member of the Polish Women's Club, and a member of several local and regional arts patron's associations. She and her husband of 39 years, John D. Maziarz, longtime art instructor at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, were married Nov. 23, 1961. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Jeffrey J. Maziarz of Adams; a daughter, Liane L. Maziarz of Colton, Calif., and a grandson. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church or School through the funeral home.
