Joan M. Belanger, 70

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joan Marie Belanger, 70, of 82 Lincoln St. died Monday, March 14, 2011, at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on Jan. 8, 1941, daughter of Vivian Brown Belanger Mould of North Adams and the late Thomas Belanger, she attended local schools. Ms. Belanger was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Adams and enjoyed crafts. Besides her mother, she leaves four sons, William F. Brown of Clayton, Del., Anthony D. Brown and Terance Brown, both of North Adams, and Curtis V. Brown of Rutland, Vt; a brother, Thomas Belanger of Adams; two sisters, Katherine Hiser of Thornton, Colo., and Patricia Luczynski of Williamstown; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchilderen and nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Ms. Belanger will be held Saturday, March 12, at 11 at First Congregational Church of Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Florida Church Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.

Patti - I am so sorry to see that Joan has passed away. I have very fond memories of her, especially waking up on my 16th birthday at her home on the mountain. Every time she saw me, she would stop and we'd chat. I hope your memories of her will sustain you in your time of grief.
