Shaun T. Moran, 28

CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Shaun T. Moran, 28, of Clarksburg died Monday, April 18, 2011, at his home. Born in North Adams on Sept. 24, 1982, son of Michael and Karen McKinney Moran of Clarksburg, he attended Clarksburg Elementary School and graduated in 2001 from Drury High School in North Adams, where he earned a four-year varsity letter with the football team and was rewarded the unsung hero award. He also was a member of Ski Club and Nu Sigma Honor Society. At graduation, he received the Principal's Award and was featured in Who's Who's for academic excellence. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where he studied human science. Mr. Moran was employed by Albert Cummings Contracting Co. and, at the time of his death, with Applied Energy Management-Lime Energy as a lighting technician. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing and boating. He loved playing poker, watching sports, NASCAR and spending time with his family. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Dennis Moran of Stamford, Vt.; three sisters, Kelly Connor and her husband, Brian, of Stamford, Holly Jean Moran and her fiance, David Monterosso, of Pittsfield and Nicole Belanger and her husband, Aron, of Clarksburg; his paternal grandfather, Thomas Moran of Clarksburg; nieces and nephews Cordelia Rose Moran, Myles Wojnicki and Hunter Connor; stepnieces Audrey Belanger and Khloe Vanuni, and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Allen and Jeannie Delisle McKinney; paternal grandmother, Isabell Pierce, cousin Heather Torres and niece Sophie Wojnicki. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Moran will be celebrated Tuesday, April 26, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, April 25, at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for a Education Fund for Shaun Moran's Nephews and Niece through the funeral home.

Our prayers are with you all during this terrible time of grief. There is nothing harder than to deal with the loss of someone so young in such a tragic way, but god knew it was time for Shaun to go to a better place so he can watch over and guide his brother and sisters and continue to make a difference in their lives!
