Harold T. McAdoo, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Harold Thomas McAdoo, 87, of 104 Union St. died Friday, May 6, 2011, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Saugus on Oct. 25, 1923, a son of Howard and Harriet Wormstead McAdoo, he attended Saugus schools and graduated from Saugus High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. McAdoo was employed by Berkshire Gas Co. as a maintenance worker. He also worked in auto body repair at the former Shapiro Chevrolet and several other dealerships. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He leaves his wife, the former Shirley Hazel Dion, whom he married on Nov. 26, 1944, in Saugus; a son, Thomas McAdoo of Plantsville, Conn.; a daughter, Deborah Lipka of North Adams; a brother William McAdoo of Saugus; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His eight brothers and sisters predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A calling hour for Mr. McAdoo will be held Monday evening, May 16, from 7 to 8, followed by a memorial talk at 8 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams.
