Rita T. Brooks, 86
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rita Theresa Brooks, 86, of 699 Ashland St. died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on April 22, 1925, a daughter of John and Veronica Charron Sebastino, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Brooks was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 35 years, until retiring in 1987.
She was a communicant of the fomrer St. Thomas Church in Adams and was a member of the Sprague Electric Quarter Century and Retirees clubs.
Her husband, Donald H. Brooks, whom she married Feb. 9, 1946, died Feb. 27, 1998.
She leaves two daughters, Jean Bechard and her longtime companion, Michael Keefe, of Talbot, Tenn., and June Mroz and her longtime companion, Stephen Perkins, of the town of Florida; four sisters, Angelina Giguere of Alabama, Jean LeClair and Carol Gaffey, both of North Adams, and Theresa Bechard of Adams; four grandchildren, Tammy Menard, Michael Mroz, Jennifer Wise and Eric Mroz, and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Loretta Huttle and her brother, John Sebastino.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will take place Wednesday, June 29, at 9 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Pope John Paul the Great Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 28, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Jude Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
