Joyce Burdick, 58
FLORIDA, Mass. - Joyce Burdick, 58, of 203 Central Shaft Road, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Hartford, Conn. on Nov. 11, 1952, a daughter of Fred and Minnie Wheelock Olden. She graduated from Frontier Regional High School in 1970.
At the time of her death she had been employed for more than 20 years in the deli department at Super Stop & Shop in North Adams. She attended the Florida Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her husband, Gordon "Gordy" Burdick, whom she married Nov. 24, 1971, in the Florida Baptist Church, died Jan. 28, 2003.
Survivors include her son Douglas Burdick of Florida, sister Janet Sherman and her husband, Kenny, of Florida, sister-in-law Thelma Gomez and her husband, Juan, of Monroe, and sister-in-law Sylvia Brayman of Florida; and grandchildren Haley Burdick, Allie Burdick and Bradley Janovsky, all of Florida.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Joyce Burdick will take place Wednesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the Florida Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested in Joyce’s memory through the funeral home.
