Helen L. "Babe" Rose, 76, of Undermountain Road died yesterday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center shortly after being stricken with a heart attack. Born in Lenox on Jan. 30, 1925, daughter of Anthony and Josephine Zdonski Smith, she was a 1943 graduate of Lenox High School. Mrs. Rose was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and fixing things. She leaves two sons, David W. Rose and Christopher F. Rose, both of West Hampton; two sisters, Mary A. McDermott of Pittsfield and Stanislaus J. "Lolly" Smith of Lenox; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow from 4 to 8 at the funeral home.
