Jadwiga Andrzejewski, 103

ADAMS, Mass. - Jadwiga Andrzejewski, 103, of 408 East Hoosac St. died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at North Adams Commons. Born in Huta, Poland, on April 6, 1908, daughter of Francis and Ursula Oranko Kucner, she attended schools in Poland and came to the United States in 1958. Mrs. Andrzejewski was primarily a homemaker for her family. She loved gardening, mushrooming, and picking blueberries. She also worked as a domestic for several area families. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Her husband, Hipolit Andrzejewski, whom she married in 1924, died on Oct. 31, 1974. She leaves three sons, Joseph Andrzejewski of Richmond, Va., Walter Andrzejewski of North Adams and Mark Andrzejeski of Pittsfield; two daughters, Janina Cote of Adams, with whom she lived, and Antoinette Clark of Pittsfield; 47 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren who live on three continents, North America, Europe and South America. She was predeceased by her children Stanislaus, Alexander, Jan, William, Katherine and Angela, and several brothers and sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Andrzejewski will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
