Janice M. Law, 62

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Janice Marie Law, 62, of 96 Hawthorne Ave. died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at her home. Born North Adams on Dec. 16, 1948, a daughter of Theresa Charron Law Robert of Williamstown and the late William Law, she graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1967 and attended North Adams State College. Ms. Law was last employed by Coakley, Pierpan, Dolan & Collins Insurance Agency. Before that, she worked at former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of the Incarnation Church. She was a member of the Greylock Community Club and enjoyed writing poetry and gardening. She was a breast cancer survivor and a supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Besides her mother and her stepfather, Normand Robert, she leaves two daughters, Angela Duda of Austin, Texas, and Amy Duda of North Adams; a sister, Jennifer Girard of North Adams; two brothers, Kenneth Law of The Woodlands, Texas, and Gordon Law of Temecula, Calif.; four stepsisters and a stepbrother, Laurie Brown, Constance Tatro, Denise Bragdon, Mary Robert and Lawrence Robert; a brother-in-law, Ronald Goss of North Adams; nieces, nephews, five grandnieces and -nephews, and her longtime companion, Robert Northcutt. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Goss, stepsister Eileen Lincourt and her grandniece and grandnephew Mia and Dustin Girard. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Ms. Law will take place Friday, Sept. 23, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 from St. Patrick's Church, Southworth Street, Williamstown. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Janice was one of a kind. I had a lot of laughs when I was around her. I feel so sorry for her family and close friends because she will be greatly missed. Amy and Angela, you are in my thoughts.
