Celina F. Dupre, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Celina Flora Dupre, 88, of 150 Ashland St. died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on April 1, 1923, daughter of Felix and Julia Cavey Duquette, she attended the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. Dupre first worked in child care for Benjamin Dolgoff. She was last employed by the former J.C. Penney and Roberts Co. stores as a seamstress and tailor until her retirement in 1986. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, where she was an active participant. She enjoyed knitting and baking and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, Joseph A. Dupre, whom she married on June 8, 1940, in Notre Dame, died on Oct. 21, 1983. She leaves two daughters, Jean Bartlett and her husband, Howard, of Crosby, Texas, and Cheryl Pearson and her husband, Edward, of North Adams; two sisters, Gloria Ziaja and Dorothy Mancini, both of North Adams; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Her sister Helen Dean is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Dupre will be Monday, Nov. 28, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
