Frances Lerner

Frances Lerner, 73, of 32 Dodge Ave. died Saturday at Kimball Farms in Lenox after a long battle with cancer. Born in Paterson, N.J., on Nov. 13, 1927, daughter of Louis and Sadie Taback Leblang, she was a graduate of George Washington High School in Manhattan, N.Y. She also attended New York University. She moved to Pittsfield in 1949. She was employed for eight years as a medical records clerk for Onota Medical Associates in Pittsfield. During the 1960s and '70s, she was active in the PTA and the Pittsfield Jewish Community Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her husband, Joseph L. Lerner, whom she married Dec. 21, 1947; two sons, Lawrence D. Lerner of Pittsfield and Robert C. Lerner of Westford, and two granddaughters. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Diane L. Lerner, and her granddaughters, Meredith L. Lerner and Alison M. Lerner, all of Westford. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, at 2 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Burial took place in the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah Mausoleum at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, N.J., on Sunday, Sept. 2. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
