Russell H. Wright, 90
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Russell H. Wright, 90, of 15 West Shaft Terrance died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at home.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 3, 1921, a son of Milford and Stella May Davis Wright, he attended schools in North Adams.
He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wright was last employed for many years with the Williamstown Department of Public Works.
He was a life member of Peter A. Cook VFW Post 9144 in Clarksburg. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, woodworking and working on cars. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He and his wife, the former Gertrude Dupre, were married Feb. 27, 1954.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves two daughters, Sharon M. Lindner and her husband, Edward, and Cynthia Haggart, all of Williamstown; three sons, Allan E. Wright and his wife, Diane, of Milford, Fla., Mark D. Wright of Adams and Russell W. Wright and his wife, Anne Marie, of Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Janet O'Neill and her husband, Richard, of North Adams, 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers Alton and Carlton Wright.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for Mr. Wright will take place Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel, Main Street, Williamstown. Burial with military honors will take place at a later date in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
