NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Louise "Marylou" Garrity, 53, of 25 Rich St. died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield
Born in North Adams on Oct. 1, 1958, a daughter of Shirley O'Neill Unsworth of North Adams and the late Samuel Unsworth, she attended Drury High School and graduated with the class of 1976. She graduated from Berkshire Community College in 1979 with an associate's degree in business.
Mrs. Garrity was employed at Williamstown Medical Associates for 17 years as an accountant. She later worked for Northern Berkshire Health Systems.
She enjoyed bowling at both Valley Park Lanes and Mount Greylock Bowl, and also enjoyed cross stitching and knitting. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was very active in her son's extracurricular activities at Drury High School.
Besides her mother, she leaves her husband, Timothy Joseph Garrity, whom she married June 21, 1991; her son, Connor Garrity, a senior at Drury; a sister, Linda Sukel and her husband, Robert, of Waverly, Pa.; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Mary Garrity of Pittsfield; her brother-in-law, James Garrity and his wife, Susan, of Pittsfield; and sisters-in-laws Donna Garrity and Patricia Wood and her husband, Jack, all of Pittsfield, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral services for Mrs. Garrity will be Monday, Jan. 9, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 8, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Donations are suggested to the Connor Garrity Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
