Jeannine P. Rioux

Jeannine P. Rioux, 42, of 205 Green River Road died Monday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Great Barrington. Born in Springfield on May 23, 1959, daughter of Norbert and Pauline Vincent Rioux, she was a 1977 graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. She was also a 1981 graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She and her husband, Leo F. Kavanaugh, moved to Stockbridge in 1981, and lived in Great Barrington from 1988 until moving to Alford in 1998. She was employed as director of sales at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge until 1993. Most recently she was employed as a consultant and E-business specialist at Commerce One Global Services in Pittsfield. She was active with the Stockbridge properties of the Trustees of Reservations and a member of the Great Barrington and Berkshire County historical societies. Besides her husband, whom she married June 10, 1984, she leaves her parents of Madison, Conn., and two sisters, Denise M. Rioux of Branford, Conn., and Michelle R. Brown of Worcester. The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 6, at 10:30 from HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Peter's Church, Great Barrington. The Rev. Gregory Mohrman, OSB, headmaster of St. Louis, Mo., Priory School, will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Osborne Cemetery in Alford. Calling hours are today, Sept. 5, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Donations may be made to the Trustees of Reservations, c/o Hickey-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
