John Cummings

John W. Cummings, 88, formerly of 370 West St., died yesterday at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 2, 1913, son of John and Emily Walsh Cummings, he attended local schools. He moved to Great Barrington in 1978. A deeply religious man, Mr. Cummings was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and attended Mass frequently. An avid reader and baseball fan, he enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed model trains. He is survived by several cousins. A calling hour will begin at 9 on Friday at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10 at St. Mark's Church with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
