Phyllis Jillson, 83
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Phyllis Jillson, 83, 193 Chantilly Ave. died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at South County Hospital in South Kingstown, R.I., after a brief illness.
Born in North Adams on June 8, 1928, a daughter of Osborne and Bertha Adams Edwards, she graduated from Drury High School and the former Bliss Business College in North Adams.
Mrs. Jillson was employed for 40 years in the office of the former Scarafoni Ford dealership. She was last employed at the former Tower Lighting.
She enjoyed traveling, boating, gardening, making jewelry and playing the organ. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loving family and having lunch with her friends.
Her husband, Donald Jillson, whom she married March 4, 1950, in St. John's Episcopal Church, died Jan. 4, 2004.
She leaves three daughters, Kathy Serre and her husband, Leon, of Adams, Donna Humphries and her husband, Ty, of Kingstown, R.I., and Anita Pratt and her husband, John, of Readsboro, Vt.; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Denise Serre, Shannon and Frank Trumble, Sharon and Todd Dawson, Mike and Jackie Pratt, Jake and Sara Pratt and Kaitlynn and Ben Boyd; six great-grandchildren, Todd, Cassandra, Jenny, Abby, Adam and Derek. Also welcomed into her home and heart were Patsy Chalifoux of Katy, Texas, and Joanne Goddard of Costa Mesa, Calif.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Jillson will take place Thursday, Feb. 9, at 10 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.
