Arlene T. Malloy, 70
ADAMS, Mass. — Arlene "Molly" Theresa Malloy, 70, of 99 Bucklin Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 4, 1942, daughter of Raymond and Ida Brassard Therrien, she attended schools in Adams and North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Malloy worked for many years at the former Woolworth's Department Store until retiring. Earlier she had worked for the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. in North Adams.
She was a communicant of the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great. She enjoyed horse pulling, all animals, playing on the computer, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She and her husband, Joseph A. Malloy, were married on April 28, 1962.
Besides her husband of 50 years, she leaves one son, Joseph A. Malloy Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Adams; two daughters, Arlene Superneau and her husband, Bryan, and Betty Jo Valois and her husband, William, all of North Adams; another child, John Pellerin, whom she had raised since his teen years; a brother, Robert Therrien; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Joshua and Katie Superneau, Jim, Michaela and Joe G. Malloy, Corrinne Sholenburger and Bo, Rick and Bonnie Valois; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Therrien Jr. and Edward Therrien Sr.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Malloy will be held Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. from Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 until the time of the service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home.
