Edna Ann Cardimino, 88
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Edna Ann Cardimino, 88, of 481 East Main St. died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Stamford, Vt., on July 22, 1923, daughter of Murray and Kathleen Russell Lewis, she attended Stamford schools and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams with the class of 1941.
Mrs. Cardimino was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 25 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Pownal, Vt., VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and working around her home.
Her husband, Peter C. Cardimino, whom she married Aug. 9, 1947, died on Jan. 7, 1998.
She leaves a daughter, Linda Cardimino and her companion, Sam Woodcock, of Pownal; a son, David A. Cardimino and his wife, Nancy, of North Adams; a brother, Murray Lewis of Pownal; two sisters, Alice Laperriere of Granger, Ind., and Kathleen Eastman of Bennington, Vt.; two grandchildren, Peter Cardimino II and David A. Cardimino Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher, Juan and Emily; three great-great-grandchildren, Aleeyah, Joselyn and Maiya, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A brother, Melvin Lewis, died in infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Cardimino will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Peter Cardimino II, David Cardimino Jr., Christopher Cardimino, Sam Woodcock, and Tracy Eastman. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Lewis, Michael Lewis, Peter Cardimino, Joey Trembley and Murray Lewis.
