Marilyn Finney, 58
READSBORO, Vt. — Marilyn "Mini" Finney, 58, of 430 Tunnel St. died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at North Adams (Mass.) Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on July 21, 1953, a daughter of Harold and Geraldine Smith Martin, she attended schools there, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Finney was employed by Bartlett Nuclear Co. and, prior to that, by the Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Plant for several years.
She was a past member of the Readsboro Lions Club and was a member of the Readsboro American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. She was an avid lover of nature and would often call family to share her sightings of wildlife. She enjoyed hanging out daily with friends at the boat launch. She doted on her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband and best friend, Alden Finney; a daughter, Rebecca Finney Howard and her husband, Lance, of Readsboro; a son, Faron Finney and his wife, Lisa, of Kiln, Miss.; three brothers, Neal Martin and his wife, Barb, of North Adams, Gary Martin and his wife, Fay, of Cheshire, Mass., and Robert Martin of Pittsfield, Mass.; three sisters, Judy Knowles and her husband, Bill, of Texas, Gerilyn Shaw and her husband, Joe, of North Adams and Sharon Bryant of Middleburgh, N.Y.: five grandchildren, Kayla Finney, Leelah Finney, Gavin Howard, Becky and Brian Davis, and a great-grandchild, Jastin.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling bours for Mrs. Finney will take place Thursday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the Readsboro Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
