Theodore Kordana

Theodore Kordana, 77, of 26 Anthony St. died Tuesday afternoon at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center. Born in Windsor on April 20, 1924, son of Anthony and Mary Devanski Kordana, he moved to Adams as a child and attended schools in Adams and Savoy. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the 169th Infantry in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mr. Kordana was employed in the construction trades all his life. He was most recently employed by Western Massachusetts Construction Co. in Lee for 20 years, retiring as superintendent of bridge projects in 1981. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He was a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion, the Maple Grove Civic Club and the Mountain Club. An outdoorsman, he was a founder and past president of the Adams Hound and Hunt Club. He leaves his wife, the former Florence S. Baran, whom he married May 5, 1945; two daughters, Christine Davine and Marie Maloney, both of Adams; a brother, Zigmond Kordana of Adams; two sisters, Mildred Patryn of Adams and Helen Carr of West Virginia, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 7:15 a.m. from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 8 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
