Florence R. Swistak, 85
ADAMS, Mass. — Florence R. Swistak, 85, of 24 Grove St. died early Friday morning, June 1, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Adams on Dec. 21, 1926, a daughter of Arthur and Regina Charbonneau Racine, she attended Adams schools.
Mrs. Swistak worked for Adams Laundry and Dry Cleaning Co. for many years, until retiring. She also assisted her husband in the operation of Swistak's Bar & Lounge in Cheshire for many years.
She had been a communicant of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Parish and had enjoyed sewing as a hobby.
She and her husband, John J. Swistak, were married on Oct. 25, 1948.
Besides her husband of 63 years, she leaves a son, John J. Swistak III and his wife, Donna, of Adams; a brother, Richard Racine and his wife, Barbara, of Adams; two sisters, Elizabeth Crosier and her husband, Neal, of North Adams, and Virginia Kruszyna and her husband, Ronald, of Cheshire; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Swistak will be held on Tuesday, June 5, at 10:30 from Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus School through the funeral home.
