Violet E. Lewis, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Violet E. Lewis, 92, of 1159 Massachusetts Ave. died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Williamstown on Aug. 8, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Godfrey Larabee, she attended schools in Williamstown and was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
Mrs. Lewis was a devoted homemaker and mother. She loved to garden and knit and enjoyed music and dancing.
Her husband, Baden Lewis, whom she married in 1936, died in 1990.
She leaves three daughters, Dianne Hein and her companion, John Fosty, of Clarksburg, and Patricia McConnell and her husband, Stephen, and Cynthia Emery, all of North Adams; four sons, William Lewis and his wife, Frances, of Williamstown, and David Lewis, Thomas Lewis and his wife, Mary, and Foster Lewis and his wife, DeeDee, all of North Adams; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She predeceased by her brother, Samuel Larabee.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lewis will be held Monday, June 11, at 9 a.m. from All Saints Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 10, from 4 to 7 at FFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
