C. Richard Gould, 76

ADAMS, Mass. — C. Richard "Dick" Gould, 76, of 31 East Road died on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was the longtime veterans' agent for the city of North Adams. Born in North Adams on Nov. 5, 1935, a son of Charles and Helen Toohey Gould, he attended schools in North Adams. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he served from 1954 until being honorably discharged in 1962. Mr. Gould worked for more than 30 years as the director of veterans affairs for North Adams until retiring in the late 1990s. He was a communicant of the Parish of Blessed John Paul and was a member of Burnett-Bednarz Veterans of Foreign Wars and of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in North Adams. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his wife, the former Gisele Pelletier, were married on Sept. 15, 1962. Besides his wife of 49 years, he leaves four sons, Stephen Gould and Matthew Gould, both of Adams, Shaun Gould of San Jose, Calif., and David Gould of Savoy; a brother, John Gould and his wife, Sally, of Williamstown; two sisters, Sister Bette Gould, of Sisters of St. Joseph in Chicopee, and Helene Gajda and her husband, Norman, of North Adams; two grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua Gould; two great-grandchildren, Emma Lee and Landon, and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Gould will be on Saturday, July 14, at 11:30 a.m. from Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at noon in Blessed John Paul Church by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home.
