Robert M. Fowler, 71
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Martin Fowler, 71, of 66 North St. died Friday, July 13, 2012, at his home after a long illness.
Born in Williamstown on June 2, 1941, he was the son of Elmer M. and Muriel A. Busl Fowler and resided for the majority of his life in North Adams.
Mr. Fowler was employed for many years through Arcadia Employment Services at the Berkshire Ivy Garden. Following his retirement from the food service department at St. Joseph's Court, he attended Berkshire Family and Individual Resources Day Habilitation Center, where he was known for his helping nature, spirited personality and genuine smile.
He enjoyed walking the downtown area of North Adams and attended many celebrations and parades over the years. He frequented either Dunkin' Donuts or McDonald's for his daily coffee. He enjoyed collecting lighthouses, watches and coffee mugs.
He leaves his three sisters, Norma, Susan and Holly Fowler, his many dear friends at BFAIR and in the community who will miss him.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Fowler
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Fowler will be held Tuesday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with the Rev. Mr. Bruce Ziter officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Berkshire Family & Individual Resources at 771 South Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
