Frank H. Matheke

Frank H. Matheke, 90, of 1561 Cold Spring Road died yesterday morning at Sweet Brook Health Care Center. Born in Newark, N.J., on July 5, 1911, son of John B. and Julia Scaub Matheke, he attended schools there and graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy with a degree in pharmaceutical science. He moved to North Adams in 1987. Mr. Matheke owned and operated Clinton Pharmacy in East Orange, N.J., and was also a pharmacist in Newark. He was a member of First Congregational Church of North Adams. His wife, the former Margaret Lane, whom he married June 18, 1940, died in 1987. He leaves a daughter, Judith Lane of North Adams; a son, David Matheke of Merino Valley, Calif., and three grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held in October at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
