Geraldine M. Murphy, 89
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Geraldine Mary "Gerry" Murphy, 89, of 282 State Road died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at North Adams Commons.
Born in Clarksburg on Sept. 20, 1922, daughter of Edward and Corena Brown Tatro, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School. She also attended the former Bliss Business College.
Mrs. Murphy was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in its pension department for more than 25 years, until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed reading and shopping, and was devoted to her family.
Her husband, Lawrence J. Murphy, whom she married on Oct. 11, 1947, died on Dec. 16, 1997.
She leaves a daughter, Geraldine M. Chouinard and her husband, Donald, of North Adams; two brothers, Edward Tatro Jr. of Tennessee and Ronald Tatro of New Hampshire, and leaves nieces and nephews.
Her siblings Bernard Tatro and Shirley DeGrenier predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Murphy will be private. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., is in charge of arrangements.
