Harriet E. Wetherby, 64

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Harriet E. "Harve" Wetherby, 64, of Colebrook, N.H., died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2012, at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook after a period of declining health. Born in Williamstown on Dec. 27, 1947, the only child of Frank and Irene Robare Weeks, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1964 at the age of 17. Mrs. Wetherby worked for many different companies during her life, including for Signet, CB Sports and Gamm III. After she and her husband moved to Colebrook in 1987, she worked for LaPerle's IGA and most recently for Codet Inc. She enjoyed her cat and dog, was an avid reader and a lover of country & western music. Three weeks previously, she had been able to attend a Rascal Flatts concert. Known as "Chooch" by some of her close relatives, she will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother, and as a very quiet and private woman. Her husband, Harold Wetherby, died in 1995. She leaves her daughter, Chastity Holden and her husband, James, of Colebrook; her granddaughter, Samantha Sue Holden, and cousins in the Berkshires, including her close cousin Eugene Kemp of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE — There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. at Colebrook Village Cemetery, North Main Street, Colebrook, N.H., with the Rev. Marlyn Neary officiating. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Two Rivers Ride for Cancer, c/o Rosemary Mulliken, First Colebrook Bank, 132 Main St., Colebrook, NH 03576. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home, Colebrook, N.H.
