Ronald L. Ross

Ronald Louis Ross, 67, of 215 Mohawk Forest Boulevard, formerly of 108 Church St., died yesterday at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, where he was admitted July 2. Born in North Adams on May 25, 1934, son of Rosario and Yvonne Dupuis Ross, he attended the former Notre Dame School. Mr. Ross was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard in North Adams. In his younger years, he was employed as a truck driver by Climax Candy Co. He later worked for the former Cornish Wire Co. and its successors, General Cable Corp. and Carol Cable Corp. in their North Adams, Williamstown and Pownal, Vt., plants until the company ceased operations. He then joined the former W.R. Grace Co. in Adams and its successor, Polyfibron Corp., retiring in 1998. He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of Elks Lodge 487. He enjoyed golfing and camping and was an accordionist with the former Belltones Band. He leaves his wife, the former Ida M. Felix, whom he married July 27, 1968; a daughter, Rosalie McBee of North Adams; a brother, Paul Ross of Cheshire, four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. A son, Ronald L. Ross Jr., died in 1956. The funeral will be Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, Sept. 10, from 4 to 7. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
